Travelling deeper into Asia.....

I honestly wish I had realised the importance of geography at school. History I understood. But as I flew out over the islands of Hong Kong I realised again that I can't recognise or map a geographical region from the air.

In my travels to Siem Reap, Cambodia the local museum changed my vision and understanding of this area of the world forever.

The Khmer dynasty movement from India and China to Southeast Asia was integrally significant to the cultural, historical and architectural influences of this region.

My trip to India is as deep into the region as I have been and is both exhilarating and terrifying in equal parts.

But no matter how far and long or where you have travelled from a shower and change of clothes after 22 hours of travel is the only thing I was seriously contemplating on arrival in Delhi.

New Delhi airport is modern, expansive and well organised. Everybody is impeccably polite and friendly upon arrival.

I am the only white western woman in sight on my midnight arrival. I don’t draw attention to myself preferring to attempt to blend by not taking tourist photos. I make a mental note to do that on the way home.

My hotel is near the airport and my hotel room for the night is divine. A perfect place to refresh and renew before my departure from Delhi to Agra. #lovestotravel
